Rather Betray the Buddha Than You

Verse 1
I was a high monk in my past life
Still devoting myself to cultivation in this life
Striving for the purity of the six senses
Hoping to reach the tranquility of nirvana
At the moment I stepped into the Buddhist door
Walking through the dust and light
As if I saw the Buddha smiling, inviting me
My heart towards the Buddha is sincere
As firm as steel
But the affairs of the world are always unpredictable
You suddenly appeared
Your smile is as fragrant and faint as an orchid
Your eyes are as pure as the bright moon
Suddenly I fell into your clarity and wisdom

Since then, I've been falling deeper and deeper
The lake in my heart can no longer be calm
Knocking the wooden fish and chanting the scriptures
But the yearning secretly grows
Struggling between tenderness and the sound of the Buddha
There is no way to have it all in this world
If I don't betray the Buddha, I will betray you
Walking through layers of fog
I have to make a decision
Rather betray the Buddha than you
The footprints in the snowy night extend towards Magye阿米
The butter tea there is really fragrant and tempting

The moonlight shines on the scripture hall, trying to wash away my hesitation
The butter lamp burns brighter and brighter, trying to break my love net
I ponder in front of the Buddha, where love and faith collide
This heart has already lost its way for you

The sound of the wooden fish softly recites my blessings for you
The prayer flags flutter, waving my yearning for you
Prostrating myself in reverence, I remorsefully repent to the Buddha

If there is reincarnation, I still want to hold your hand
Strolling around Namtso Lake, under the snowy mountains, in the evening glow, among the clouds and water
Watching the brownheaded gulls skim over the dreamy blue and catch fish
